FAQ BARNDOMINIUMS
HOW MUCH ARE THEY?
A: This is difficult to answer because the price can vary widely and relies on a multitude of factors. Your Barndominium home's design, dimensions, stories, interior customizations, personal options, and many more details can alter the cost. The easier maintenance and longer-lasting features of a barndominium home make it a financially smarter option and are where the real cost savings are at. Barndominiums can offer greater design flexibility and faster construction timelines, but Florida’s strict building codes mean they are rarely as cheap to build here as where they are traditionally built in the Midwest or other Southern states. A shell and slab can start around $50 a square foot. A finished turnkey build starts around $190 a square foot.
HOW LONG TO BUILD?
A: Just like with a conventional home, a barndominium's construction time depends on various factors such as the size and customization level. The building process on a simple barn style home can be done in as little as under a year. Building a barndominium home is often 20-30% faster than building a conventional wood-framed block home
